Behind the Smile by Skyler Tarnas

Director-Producer-Costume Design-Sound Design. Behind the Smile is a new play by Skyler Tarnas, which premiered at the TANK January 17th, 2024. It's a short comedic play about high art, what we value, and what happens when we accidentally destroy The Louvre's Mona Lisa. As a director, I encouraged actors to have fun, keep experimenting, and embrace the absurdity. I established status and stakes through costume design, as well as urging actors to play to the extremes.
